CAMPUS LIFE
What Does School Feel Like Here?
Inside Campus Life at Longmont Christian School
Most families can find test scores and curriculum maps online. What’s harder to grasp, and often harder to ask, is what everyday life at a school is really like.
At Longmont Christian School, your questions about community and culture aren’t brushed aside. We’re happy to explain how we care for students from preschool through eighth grade at our private Christian school. Campus life here is shaped by traditions that connect kids across grade levels, clubs that spark unexpected passions, and teachers who greet children by name — and remember their favorite book and their pet’s name, too.
Clubs That Make Room for Every Kind of Kid
Clubs give students an easy way to connect, explore, and belong. At LCS, these opportunities are low-pressure and woven into the fabric of student life.
Fresh starts every six weeks
New club offerings rotate regularly, giving kids a chance to try different things throughout the year.
A wide range of interests
Past clubs have included Play Pals Club, Outdoor Club, STEM Club, Media Club, Yearbook, Student Council, Board Game Club, and Recess Club, which is an hour outside to run and play.
Cross-grade friendships
Squads, similar to the House Systems at other schools, are intentionally designed to include a mix of ages. Each Squad earns points through games, challenges, service, and spirit events. Kids cheer each other on, look out for Squad-mates in the halls, and form lasting connections.
Parent-powered support
Some clubs are even inspired by parents’ hobbies and expertise, including a club where students built a computer.
Art That’s Hands-On, Publicly Celebrated, and Deeply Thoughtful

Art that leaves a mark
Middle schoolers decorate the ceiling tiles in their hallway with their own hand-painted designs. It’s a tradition that gives them ownership and lets their creativity linger in the space long after the year ends.

Movement for all ages
Students have plenty of ways to move throughout the day, from kickball to lively schoolwide events. One favorite annual event is Get Buckets, a game where kids scour the campus in search of buckets.

Flexible indoor spaces
Two hub areas shift throughout the day. Sometimes they serve as chapel areas, while at other times they are used for chess, ping pong, group projects, movie breaks, or just a quiet place to recharge.

Events that build connections
Spirit Weeks, Squad games, and monthly middle school socials create moments students carry with them. These events help friendships form, give kids something to look forward to, and add rhythm to the school year.
Faith That Feels Personal and Lasting
Spiritual life at LCS shows up in quiet one-on-one check-ins, moments of prayer between classmates, and conversations that help kids sort through big questions with care.
Each student meets with an adult at the start and end of the year to reflect on their spiritual growth. These are personal conversations, not evaluations, that carry from grade to grade. Besides these individual spiritual check-ins, students:

Traditions That Bring Us Together

Life at Longmont Christian School is full of meaningful moments, and many of them are strengthened when families participate.
Each month brings at least one all-school event, and we encourage parents to sign up and be part of the joy. Some favorite traditions include:
