The Longmont Christian Warriors boys basketball team will be playing in the Regional tournament. Our first game will be at 11:00 am on Friday. High School spirit vans will leave LCS at 9:30 am. If your student(s) wishes to ride on a spirit van, please reply to this email.
Instructions regarding the tournament are below, but first I believe it is important to share the outstanding character these boys demonstrate. We spent Friday and Saturday in Sterling. When I arrived at the team's hotel Friday evening, the receptionist could not say enough good about the boys. In fact, she was so impressed by their character, she did not want a credit card on file for possible damages. She even baked chocolate chip cookies for them.
Saturday afternoon, I was walking downtown Sterling when a man noticed by Warriors jacket and stopped me. He proceeded to tell me that he had met our boys at a cafe and had never seen such polite and kind young men. In fact, he was going to the game that night to watch them win.
During our game on Saturday, the Weldon Valley coach collapsed and left in an ambulance. (He has heart trouble and is at home resting this morning.) Immediately following the handshakes after the game, our Warriors invited the other team and coaching staff to center court to pray for them and their coach. This was witnessed by a full gym of approximately 2,000 people.
I am sharing these thoughts because I believe it is important that we all understand the character that is being developed at LCS. No, our student body is not always perfect; however, seeds are being planted and Godly character is being instilled, which is a true testament of what Longmont Christian School represents.
